Harmony and function, precisely articulated
The villa and studio in Küsnacht ZH are part of the residential colony. This settlement played a decisive role in shaping the idea of modern living: light, space, architecture! The architect’s design is harmonious and avoids grand gestures. One feels at ease immediately—this distinctly modern sense of space and living remains an experience even in 2026. The salon, lowered by two steps and featuring a marble-clad fireplace, is perhaps the favourite place in the house. The buildings embrace terraces and green spaces. Living en plein air is inherent.
The substance of the Bauhaus buildings is sound, yet will be adapted to current requirements and the needs of future owners. Incidentally, the architect and her husband, who was involved in the design, lived and worked in the houses themselves.

III New build
Subterranean structure with open atrium
The new building, offering over 900 m² of usable space, will extend the Bauhaus ensemble and connect it to the present day. Conceived as a subterranean structure, it creates performative space for private use as well as for collections, presentations, and programming. A central 50 m² atrium brings daylight deep into the building. A calm sequence of versatile spatial atmospheres unfolds. The extra-high rooms are directly accessible via the underground garage for cars and delivery vehicles.
Tailored to your personal needs
Designed by Kistler Architekten, the project is currently under construction. Interior fit-out preferences as well as spatial and technical requirements can be accommodated at this stage.
Archipelago on Lake Zurich
The harmonious coexistence of the existing buildings and the new structure is ensured through careful consideration of their placement and articulation. Residents and users will enjoy the privilege of living on an archipelago—right in the heart of Küsnacht. Landscaping interventions will further accentuate this impression.
